Ohio CTE Innovation and Impact Conference 2022

This presentation will focus on connecting adult learners with training opportunities at OTC's and postsecondary institutions. The presentation will cover best practices of connecting with adult learners through marketing, partnerships, and funding.

During this session, we will present opportunities that Career Technical Programs have to collaborate with The Ohio Academy of Science. Students and educators are encouraged to learn more about Believe in Ohio, a FREE STEM Entrepreneurship program/competition, and Science Day, the NEW revised Ohio Science Fair. Attendees will leave with all of the tools and resources they need to begin with their students on day one of the academic year as these programs will fit seamlessly with your established curriculum. And...did we mention the classroom grants for educators, award money for student participants and scholarship opportunities??!!??

Free Drivers Ed for Students: The Facts

As both an ODE endorsed Driver Education teacher and a Commercial Driving School Training Manager,
I will guide the attendees step by step through the licensure process with the Department of Public Safety.
Explain S B 166 regarding Driver Education. The misconceptions surrounding the costs of offering 
Driver Education will be covered. Attendees will leave ready to offer FREE Driver Education to their 
students in the Fall of 2022.

I am beyond excited to present on how schools can use their CTE funds to offer Driver Education for their students.
The ability to obtain a driver's license isn't about fitting in, or the stigma that comes from being left out. Teens who have a license will naturally have more opportunities.They're the ones who will have access toa wide variety of jobs, they'll be more likely to obtain and hold a job, and they will have an easier time accessing goods and services.
The disparities between which kids obtain licenses follow predictable racial and economic lines.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the workplace now requires different skill sets. How different are the skills and how can CTE programs respond?

Sharing research on best practices around the state of Ohio on how to best support Perkins V Special Populations. Taking a deeper dive into supporting these populations on the pathways to graduation. We plan to have time for a share out of other best-practices we from participants.
