Free Drivers Ed for Students: The Facts

As both an ODE endorsed Driver Education teacher and a Commercial Driving School Training Manager,
I will guide the attendees step by step through the licensure process with the Department of Public Safety.
Explain S B 166 regarding Driver Education. The misconceptions surrounding the costs of offering
Driver Education will be covered. Attendees will leave ready to offer FREE Driver Education to their
students in the Fall of 2022.

I am beyond excited to present on how schools can use their CTE funds to offer Driver Education for their students.
The ability to obtain a driver's license isn't about fitting in, or the stigma that comes from being left out. Teens who have a license will naturally have more opportunities. They're the ones who will have access toa wide variety of jobs, they'll be more likely to obtain and hold a job, and they will have an easier time accessing goods and services.
The disparities between which kids obtain licenses follow predictable racial and economic lines.
